Jessica Hernandez is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and a Licensed Professional Counselor with over 8 years of experience providing mental health services to children and families at a children’s advocacy center.  She offers individual, family, and couples counseling at Missouri City Family Counseling. 

Jessica has extensive experience providing counseling to children and families who have experienced trauma, including abuse, neglect, and interpersonal violence.  She has given presentations on the impact of trauma and the dynamics of sexual abuse to educators and community members. In addition to trauma, Jessica specializes in mood disorders, grief, attachment difficulties, relationship issues, life transitions, and personal growth.  She has received training in multiple evidence-based therapy modalities, including Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR), play therapy, crisis intervention, and Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) for individuals and couples. 

Jessica strives to create a safe and non-judgmental therapeutic space in which her clients feel empowered to express themselves freely.  She believes that we must work through our emotions to create lasting personal growth.  Jessica uses a person-centered, attachment-focused, collaborative approach to tailor treatment to each client’s unique needs.

Jessica holds a Master’s degree in Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake.  She is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist – Supervisor (#202078) and a Licensed Professional Counselor -Supervisor (#72008) in the state of Texas.
