JoAnna Quan is a licensed clinical social worker. She has trained and worked in private practice, university clinics, and hospital settings across the country including Texas Children’s Hospital and Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. She has over 15 years of experience evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and adults in a wide range of behavioral and mental health conditions. She has experience in facilitating treatment groups for children as well as educational and support groups for parents.

JoAnna has experience working with trauma stemming from abuse and neglect, attachment related difficulties, grief and loss, chronic medical conditions, and genetic disorders. JoAnna is specifically trained to utilize techniques and approaches such as play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Focused Therapy (CBT),Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). She completed a two year training in expressive arts therapy with children and teens with Bo’s Place -Grief Center of Texas. JoAnna also has a special interest in working with women with infertility, adoption, or post -partum depression. JoAnna works with couples who need support with communication difficulties, divorce, and blended families. JoAnna utilizes Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman principles in her work with couples. She also has extensive experience in providing counseling for life transitions, career changes, depression, sleep, anxiety and stress. JoAnna tailors her approach to each client’s needs. Her style is collaborative, honest, relaxed, and friendly.

JoAnna holds a Master’s degree in Social Work and Health Education from the University of Houston. She completed post -graduate fellowships at Yale Nursing School in Distress Screening and M.D. Anderson Cancer Center. Award received from the Silicon Valley Business Journal 2013 Women of Influence Leadership Award.
