Julie is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor, as well as co-founder of Missouri City Family Counseling. She provides individual, family, and couples counseling. She has provided mental health services to children and families in a variety of settings for over 14 years, including inpatient services, outpatient services, home based settings, and residential treatment centers at Depelchin Children’s Center.
Julie has extensive training and experience working with trauma stemming from abuse and neglect, attachment related difficulties, behavioral difficulties, and mood disorders. Julie is specifically trained to utilize techniques and approaches such as play therapy, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) techniques, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT), and Parent Child Interaction Therapy (PCIT). Julie also has a special interest in working with couples who are experiencing relationship dissatisfaction, disconnection, and high conflict. Julie works with couples who need support with infidelity, communication difficulties, divorce, blended families, parenting or even just marriage enrichment. Julie utilizes Emotion Focused Therapy (EFT) and Gottman principles in her work with couples. Julie tailors her approach to each client’s needs. Her style is collaborative, honest, relaxed, and friendly.
Julie holds a Master’s degree in Family Therapy from the University of Houston Clear Lake. She is a Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT #201258) and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC #64363) in the state of Texas.
