Dr. Lindsay Asawa is a licensed clinical psychologist and co-founder of Missouri City Family Counseling. Dr. Asawa has trained and worked in private practice, university clinics, and hospital settings across three states. She has 14 years of experience evaluating and treating children, adolescents, and adults for a wide range of behavioral and mental health conditions. She has experience facilitating treatment groups for children as well as educational and support groups for parents.
As testing coordinator for Missouri City Family Counseling, Dr. Asawa both facilitates and conducts psychological and educational evaluations for clients of all ages. Dr. Asawa and her assessment team utilize evidence-based assessments and treatment recommendations. She is passionate about partnering with parents and individuals to better understand both challenges and strengths, and to develop an effective plan that includes referrals and resources if needed. Dr. Asawa is often invited to teach workshops and give presentations on topics related to mental health and parenting.
Dr. Asawa completed her doctoral degree in clinical psychology at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 2008. She completed a clinical internship at Baylor College of Medicine and a post-doctoral fellowship at Children’s Medical Center Dallas. She is a member of the American Psychological Association and Fort Bend Psychological Association, as well as former coordination and frequent presenter for the Attention Deficit Disorder Association parent support group in Fort Bend County.
