Nicole is a licensed professional counselor who specializes in working with children and families, adolescents, and young adults. She is experienced in both evaluating and providing treatment for clients with a range of diagnoses and needs. She has experience working in a variety of settings, including private practice, behavioral treatment centers, child and family mental health research programs, and hospitals and clinics for children with developmental delays. Nicole is passionate about improving child and family outcomes and working collaboratively with clients to assess and treat behavioral issues that may be interfering with home, work, school and social settings. Her overall goal is to empower individuals to live a full and happy life.
Nicole has received formal graduate training and supervision to conduct psychological and educational assessments for children with behavioral issues, developmental delays, and specific learning disabilities. Nicole has several years of experience administering and scoring assessments, as well as writing comprehensive diagnostic reports, for individuals of all ages. Nicole also offers individual, family, and small group therapy. She takes an integrative approach to counseling, meeting clients right where they are and customizing treatment to their individual needs. She uses evidence-based practices, combining methodologies of behavior therapy, play therapy, parent-child interaction therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, cognitive behavior therapy, and mindfulness-based techniques.
Nicole holds a Master of Education degree in Counseling and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology with a Minor in Human Development and Family Studies, all from the University of Houston. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (#71865) in the state of Texas and is completing additional training to become a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology (LSSP).
